I very much enjoyed the read today from Boyd Bailey. He makes the point that no matter who you are in relationship with (the Lord, your spouse or a business associate), respect slows down, listens and connects.
Consider this mind-blowing reality, God respects us, His creatures. After all we are the apex of His creation, the work of His grace and the reflection of His Glory.
“Respect does not mean you mutter in disagreement on the inside and smile on the outside. It means you voice your concerns and conflicting ideas clearly, concisely and with a spirit of humility and calmness. Respect resists attacking people and instead challenges assumptions and processes, so it goes a long way toward relational growth.” p. 88
Give the Lord the respect due His name and you will marvel at His response to your circumstances. Respect others and you will be blessed by the richness of relationships.
