Today, I reflect on the impact godly men have made on my personal life and faith-walk and especially my own dad, Henry Yeats. While he is man known and respected for the work of his hands, in recent years, he has demonstrated a depth of compassion, loyalty and devotion that causes me stop and esteem him highly. As I see him care for my mom, I see the work of God at work through him like never before.
Boyd Bailey writes this word to men today, “It is foolish to flee from your responsibilities as a husband and father. Fools give up, but God has you in this position so you can learn about Him and his plan for you and your family. Do what He says with passion and abandon. It may mean moving to another country. It may mean downsizing for a season. It may mean organizing a family vacation. It may mean planning the calendar and budget for the upcoming year. Men, love leads. Love follows God and leads his family. Men give your wife the assurance that you listen to and follow God. She will respect you and trust you for this.” p. 178.
At just the right moment in a man’s history, God is working. Join Him. Pursue His ways. Watch what God wills to do through you to bless your family and others.
